| Romance novels...gotta love 'em. Young or old, everyone loves a happy ending, and romances have them. How the gorgeous hero and beautiful heroine get there is a whole other story. Some of us just like to read them, and others love to write them. Some fall into both categories, and I happen to be one of those. I've been reading romances for many years, and writing for even longer, but it took me a little while to put the two together. Please be sure to check out the links. I'll add more when I find some that are truly great and useful to readers or writers of romance. And I'll post updates regularly, so please come back. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| UPDATES | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Hi! Hope you've all had a good reading or writing week! Now that we're into the new year, I hope things have settled down for all of you and you're getting back into your writing routines, as I finally am. I've also been busy scheduling booksignings. If any of you will be in Pennsylvania Dutch Country in the next week or so, drop me an email. Terri Brisbin is signing Sat, Feb. 2 from 2 - 4 p.m. On Sat. Mar. 1, Gwyn Cready, Caridad Pineiro, Christie Kelley, Janet Mullany, and Tracy Anne Warren will be signing from 1 - 3 p.m. If you'd like directions or more info, again, drop me an email. I'm also still working on dates and times for several more signings and hope to have the details available very shortly. On the writing front, I'm hashing out a new agent submission list so I can fire off some new queries. I still have partials with two editors as well, and my fingers are crossed. We're still doing regular book giveaways over in the Bella forum , and I still have more. I've done a lot of new reviews in the last couple weeks, and still have books waiting to be read--always a good thing here. I'm hoping to add to the author interviews this year, as well as the usual rearranging and housekeeping--adding more author review sections and reviews by subgenre sections--and we have another sweepstakes going on. Regular chat time in the forum is the first Tuesday of the month, at 1:00 p.m. ET, plus there are ongoing discussions and new ones all the time. If you mosey through the main site, you can sign up for our monthly newsletter, too. Check out my writers' tips: there are pages on formatting your manuscript that includes a link to an example of a standard-formatted page, query letters, creating characters, agent/editor appointments, conflict, and submissions. I'm still planning to do pages on synopses, and writing realistic dialogue. There are links below to the existing pages. Let me if there are other topics you'd like to learn more about. And one thing I feel it's important to mention here: never pay to publish your manuscript. Legitimate publishers will pay you. Not to mention the nightmare of getting your books anywhere besides your garage if you pay someone to publish your books; I can say, working in a chain bookstore, it's next to impossible for a self-published or vanity-published author to get her books into a store. Save your money for postage to real publishers. Check in again regularly for more news and thanks for visiting. Elizabeth |
