Drinking Songs with the Badger

Mr Badger slaps the latest round onto the table and swings back into his chair next to Moon. Seeing the conversation has taken an ebb from the time of night and the quantity of alcohol consumed he leads the table in a tune which sings within the hearts of many seated about.

"Little Brown Jug"

My wife I lived all alone,
In a little log hut we call our own.
She loved gin and I loved Rum,
I tell you what, we'd lot of fun.

CHORUS:
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little Brown Jug don't I love thee.
Ha, ha, ha, you and me,
Little Brown Jug don't I love thee.

'Tis you who makes my friends my foes,
'Tis you who makes me wear old clothes.
Here you are, so near my nose,
So tip he up and down she goes.

CHORUS

When I go toiling to my farm,
I take little 'Brown Jug' under my arm.
I place it under a shady tree,
Little Brown Jug 'tis you and me.

CHORUS

If all the folks in Adam's race,
Were gathered together in one place.
Then I'd prepare to shed a tear,
Before I'd part from you, my dear.

CHORUS

If I'd a cow that gave such milk,
I'd clothe her in the finest silk.
I'd feed her the choicest hay,
And milk her forty times a day.

CHORUS

The rose is red, my nose is too,
The violets blue and so are you.
And yet I guess before I stop,
We'd better take another drop.

CHORUS

With a song that's familiar to many, and more so now, finished Mr Badger leans back and watches the others converse more animatedly, a spark of energy in their eyes once more..

"In cellar cool it is my rule,
To banish care and sadness.
All joys combine, in good rhine-wine.
That fills my heart with gladness.
When 'neath the stings,
That fortune brings,
I feel my heart is sinking.
I find relief for all my grief,
In drinking, drinking, drinking.

Tho' some may prize, a maiden's eyes,
That shine with love light tender.
The sweetest maid, may prove a jade,
If you by chance offend her.
To cure the smart of love's keen dart,
There's nothing to my thinking.
That can compare when deep your care,
With drinking, drinking, drinking."

In Cellar Cool, by some people.....

After that fine note and another ale to soothe the suffering throat after its journey into the land of much hated singing (unless thou be Riahanna, Moon, Bere and cohorts who have delightful voices to thine ear). It seems that this season shall be one where a Malk's heart shall beat stronger. The years of Eternal existence dwell upon us all at times, some more than others. As such it is only natural that we look for someone else to stand by our side, to walk as we walk where-ever that may be. If a partner is found and the bond is made, not one of the Blood but one of the Mind then there should be a celebration. Please, raise your glasses once more and let us announce this fact.

"Drink, drink, drink, to eyes that are bright
As stars when they're shining on me.
Drink, drink, drink, to lips that are red
And sweet as the fruit on the tree.
Here's a hope that those bright eyes will shine.
Lovingly, lovingly, soon in mine.

May those lips that are red and sweet
Tonight with joy in my own lips meet.
Drink, drink, let the toast start!
May young hearts never part!
Drink, drink, drink, let every lover salute his sweetheart,
Let's drink.

Drink, drink, drink, to arms that are white
And warm as a rose in the sun.
Drink, drink, drink, to hearts that will love one,
Only when I am the one.
Here's a hope that those soft arms will twine,
Tenderly, trustingly, soon about mine.

May she give a priceless boon,
Her love beneath the sweet May moon.
Drink, drink, let the toast start,
May young love never part,
Drink, drink, let every lover salute his sweetheart,
Let's drink!"

The Drinking Song by some other people I can't name....

Mr Badger raises his glass to Moon and smiles as he downs the contents there of. After this happy note let us part with a Toast to Friendship.

"Eln Prosit, Eln Prosit.
Der Gemuntlichkeit!
Eln Prosit, Eln Prosit.
Der Gemuntlichkeit!"
