These steps will help you get started on your first day of snowboarding. If you have any doubt about what you will be doing please take a lesson.
- Get on flat ground with both feet straped in:
- Balance exercise: Touch the front of the board then the back and left to right
- Getting Up: Kneel down and stand up. You can try to sit down and then try to stand up. That way is harder to do.
- Get on flat ground and strap one foot in and walk around. Keep your weight on your front foot.
- Front foot in and try to change direction while sliding. Point with your hand to which way you want to go.
- Getting on the lift:Watch other people get on and get off. While getting off lean forward
- Learning how to stop: with both feet straped in slide down the hill on your edge first facing the hill, then flip over and do it facing away from the hill.
