ABSTRACT
This paper describes the design of a microcontroller intended to be a
system-on-a-chip solution for the Spanish Pay Phone System. The Circuit is
based on the present TMPLUS Pay phone equipment, deployed in Spain, South
America, and some other countries all over the world.
The design has been built around the ARM microprocessor using Intellectual
Property (IP) blocks from ARM, from other IP providers, and custom block
developed at Telefónica I+D.
The available ARM tools have allowed a Hardware and Software co-design
approach, reducing the global design time.
