i found a box of old documents at a thrift store. one of the documents was to secretary of state charles becker of jefferson city missouri dated July 26, 1922. it was signed by a j.p. pigg. the letter speaks of mr. piggs 24 year old son who wanted to start a republican newspaper. i dont know if this is a member of your family, but i will try to scan and email the document to you. if not able to scan, if you are interested - you can email me at skye34lv@aol.com and i can send it to you. thank you

Just wanted to update some info on the Fields line (found on Harbard Lancaster Weatherford descendents page). I'm the great-great grandson of Harbard and Martha Weatherford. My father, Samuel E. Fields, brother of John A Fields Jr. (who contributed to this site), passed away February 22 2003 in Tallahassee, Florida. My wife, Lesli Anne Burnham, was born June 29, 1960 in San Antonio TX. My half-sister Jennifer Ellen Fields married Doug Capps about two years ago (the date has slipped my mind), and has a son, Cole, born in November of 2001. My brother Roger Clayton Fields's second wife's name was "Frankie." His third wife is named Janet, but I do not know her maiden name.

Martha Jane Sasser's mother and father was William Sasser who married Sarah Elizabeth Beverly. Thank you for posting some of the Bolton family information on your web site. I do believe that you have missed a generation on Matthew Bolton who married mary Chapman. If his mother was Mary Hubbard Bolton she would have been 52 years old when matthew was born and 54 when Ann was born. Hardly possible in that day and age. All evidence points to this Matthew being her grandson. And I further believe that Mary Chapman was the maiden name of this Matthew's wife. There is no doubt that the perrymans intermarried with the Bolton in VA but Mary Chapman was her maiden name. I am a descendant of Matthew and Mary Chapman Bolton via their son Thomas Chapman Bolton. I have hunted for their parents since 1969 and am no further along with absolute proof than the data provided in the service records published on matthew's family. Please reply to my thoughts on these Boltons. Thanks again, Jim

In American 17th Century, there were two main families of Cobbs: Ambrose and Joseph. I come from the Joseph side and have started a quest to find the relationship of Ambrose and Joseph's forefathers.
