After originally saying that her planet would be observable by amateurs in "mid-2002" Nancy has been rapidly backpedaling and now she says that any suggestion that her planet should be visible now is simply misinformation put forward by disinformation agents. Like most everything else asserted by Nancy, this is simply wrong. There is a network of nighttime "all-sky" CONCAM cameras which allow anyone with a web browser to see the night sky above a number of observatories. These CCD cameras show roughly what is visible to the dark-adapted naked eye. The image below shows the pre-dawn sky from the summit of Mauna Kea on July 12, 2002. The image was taken by the MK CONCAM all sky camera at approximately astronomical dawn. The visibility of the Milky way shows that the sky was fully dark at this time. I have marked the locations of Polaris, M31, the Pleaides, and Aldebaran (alpha Tau) as well as Nancy's July 13, 2002 prediction. It is perfectly possible to look for Nancy's planet right now to see whether her prediction is correct. Go out and look east about 1.5 hours before dawn. If you have a clear horizon, (and no city lights) you will see the "vee" of the Hyades (the head of Taurus) ... point your telescope at Nancy's predicted coordinates and look for yourselves. (I have provided a finding chart for those who want one.)

In case you want to argue that it is unfair to show the sky from one of the world's best mountain top observatories, and that the view from a typical location would not allow searching for Nancy's planet yet, here is an image from a sea level site taken a few days ago. Again you can see that Nancy's predicted position is easily above the horizon at astronomical dawn.
