| The Brush Strokes name reflects my love of creating with a paint brush. I grew up in North Central IA on a farm near Garner. My mother encouraged my love of art and would supply me with different art projects and mediums (as well as walls, woodwork, chairs, the barn, etc.) I sketched with paper and pencil in high school and loved taking college art classes and experimenting with new mediums. Art projects and creative bulletin boards enhanced my elementary teaching classroom and later, as a substitute teacher I often taught in the art room. My next venture was Tole painting classes which has lead me to my brush strokes designs on cards, fabric, glass and other surfaces.
