The musical play is a classic American art-form. It has also become an international commercial phenomenon. The works of composers like Andrew Lloyd Webber have shattered box-office records around the world. But entering the musical theatre arena is one of the most challenging battles in the always difficult task of "breaking in" to show business. This page is intended to showcase musicals that have not yet reached the lofty perch of Broadway success. There will, of course, be an emphasis on my own musical plays, but I hope to include other aspiring composers and lyricists along the way.
I would like to thank all of the people who have signed my guestbook or sent me e-mail. You can't begin to imagine how much your words of encouragment and compliment mean to me. If you take the time to explore this site I think you'll see that I've put a lot of work into it, and into my passionate desire to create and promote quality musical theatre. It's been a long hard journey, and it's really nice to know how many of you think I'm still on the right path!
When I started this web page back in September of 1996, I was hoping that exposure on the Internet would lead to production opportunities for my work, or the work of others showcased here. As a direct result of that exposure, the world premiere of my musical The Scarlet Letter will take place in Budapest, Hungary a little later this year. I can honestly say that this is one production that would never have happened without the Undiscovered Musicals Web Page. If you would like to hear more details please read the success story feature.
As a result of this production (and several others that are now pending) I've become a working author once again and have found my time as a web developer getting pushed more and more to the background. I apologize to anyone who is waiting for a link or has requested some kind of information without hearing from me for some time. I haven't forgotten you, I've simply become very busy doing what this page is all about...writing musicals!
If you have an Undiscovered Musicals success story of your own I would love to hear about it. The goal of getting on this web page has always been to become successful enough to get off of it!

I would be very interested in receiving any information about other musicals that are struggling to make an impact. If you have written a musical, or collaborated on the writing of one, please feel free to send as much background information as you like. If you just have a brief synopsis, bio, etc., E-Mail should be fine. However, if you have more in-depth materials, artwork, press kit, etc. you should probably mail it to: FREEDOM PRODUCTIONS, P.O. Box 1388, Monrovia, CA 91017-1388. I won't be able to return any of the materials so please send copies. Obviously I can't promise to use everything, but I am genuinely interested in providing a showcase for my kindred spirits, and if nothing else, a place to share horror stories!
Undiscovered Musicals provides a home for the following shows:

For those who are interested in the art of orchestration for musical theatre I would like to invite you to visit another GeoCities Broadway page of mine:
