INTRODUCTION

2001 RESULTS

The year 2000 was a great year the for "Stealth" Boats & Sails, formally "TB" Sails of New Zealand.

and currently performing very well in the U.K.

Many of you, particularly in New Zealand and Australia, will already know me well, but for those of you who don't, I have been involved in RC yachting for over 10 years, mostly in the 1M & RM classes.  In fact I built my first RM in 1975 at the age of 15 (a Vic Smead design).

In 1999 and early 2000, I worked for 'Team New Zealand' building the 'Americas Cup' yacht "Black Magic".  This was the boat that went on to retain the "Auld Mug" with a 5 to 0 match result.

This experience has given me valuable knowledge in the modern composite material boat building methods, which I have applied to my "Stealth" yachts.  Since those early days, I have come a long way (literally) in the wonderful world of radio yachting and I can now offer you the opportunity to own winning yachts and sails.  All at competitive prices.

Since its introduction in early 2000, the "Stealth 1M" has had phenomenal success.  After only four days of tuning, the boat was entered into the [New Zealand] 2000 Nationals and immediately took control of the competition, overcoming strong opposition from Geoff Smale and Ian Vickers.  Both previous National Champs.

In September of last year, it was off to the USA Nationals and in very light conditions, the boat "stealthed" its way to victory YET AGAIN!

The "Stealth" features the now common "cockpit" deck layout, an idea of Geoff Davies and myself, way back in 1991, when we built 2, 1M's to a John Spencer design.  The idea was to get the rig as low as possible, as well stiffening the area around the mast, where most of the rigging loads are taking place.  The winch is forward of the mast in the fashion of the excellent TS2 design, by Gary Cameron of Australia.

The "Stealth 1M" is a very easy and forgiving boat to sail and is extremely competitive in all conditions.  Providing you rig it the way we suggest using "Stealth" sails.
