Yacht Atalanta  USA 69581
Listed for sale - first time in almost 20 years - but still sailing locally.  See Fraser Yachts Seattle for listing.

Based at the head of P-dock in Shilshole Marina, Seattle, "Atalanta" is a 74' custom
Abeking & Rasmussen Maxi racer refitted with a comfortable interior.
Designed by Bill Tripp Sr. and built of aluminum in 1967 as "Ondine", she has participated in and won many grueling ocean races. When she debuted in 1968, she won the Buenos Aires to Rio, Bermuda, Transatlantic, and Sydney-Hobart Races. Locally she has won the Southern Straits, Smith Island, Swiftsure and Vic-Maui races, among others.
Unlike modern ocean racers, she has accomodations comfortable enough to enjoy the venue after the finish.  Cruising the Sea of Cortez after a Cabo race is much more comfortable with air conditioning, hydraulic sail handling, generous stores and provisioning capacity and an ice-maker!
She is owned by Richard and Betty Hedreen and races under the Corinthian YC burgeee.

2009 Schedule:

TBD: Souhtern Straits and Swiftsure are possibly in the future...
